1. Torta Ahogada

Este delicioso platillo se prepara con un birote partido a la mitad al cual se le agregan carnitas de cerdo y frijoles. La torta se baña completamente en una salsa roja picante y se sirve con cebollas rebanadas. Definitivamente es un verdadero manjar.

2. Pozole

En Guadalajara también tiene su propio pozole aunque es parecido al que se consume en la CDMX. Este platillo está hecho a base de un caldo de carne de cerdo rojo, blanco o verde, con granos de maíz y una guarnición de lechuga picada, cebolla, aguacate, rábanos, orégano y chile piquín. Además, se acompaña con las tradicionales tostadas de maíz.

3. Birria

Otro platillo típico de Guadalajara y del estado de Jalisco es la “birria”, un platillo a base de carne de borrego o res, cabra, cocinada en un horno bajo tierra y cubierta con hojas de maguey. La puedes acompañar con una salsa de chile y especias.

Este platillo es un consomé de carne de res que se sirve con frijoles, trocitos de carne y tocino, y se sazona con cebolla picada, cilantro, sal y jugo de limón al gusto.

¿Y de postre… qué tal una rica jericalla? Un flan preparado a base de leche, huevos, azúcar y canela que se hornea hasta que se quema su cubierta exterior. Fue inventada por una antigua monja española, según cuenta una tradicional leyenda mexicana.
